What is Lazy Eye in Adults?

Lazy eye in adults is a condition that actually occurred in childhood as a result of visual deprivation to one or both of the eyes.

Lazy eye (or Amblyopia) is the most common childhood disorder of vision.

For many years it was widely believed that treatment for lazy eye in adults is not effective. It was thought that successful amblyopia treatment for adults could be reached only during the “critical age” which is up to age 9.

Recent studies demonstrate that brain plasticity can be restored or enhanced later in life, not only during childhood, thus paving the way for effective treatment of amblyopia in adults as well as in children.

Lazy eye may be accompanied by additional conditions such as crossed eyes, diseases, cataracts etc. which interfere with proper development of the visual pathways during childhood resulting in Amblyopia.

By practicing Revitalvision eye exercises for lazy eye in adults, certain areas in the visual cortex are stimulated and lead to an improvement of vision which results in better depth perception as well.  More than 85% of patients who were candidates for this treatment and completed its course improved their visual acuity by 2.5 rows on the Snellen testing chart and achieved 100% improvement in contrast sensitivity.
